Sweet 17 Makeover Party

17 magazine had their Sweet Seventeen Makeover Party yesterday at Fullhouse, Sunway Pyramid. Jo & I decided to take part in it since we were curious of what the event was.

We reached at 11 but obviously Malaysian timing, it started at nearly 12pm. It was limited to 50 pax only and we were all separated into 4 groups. Jo & I were put in group 1.

Started off with introduction and a lucky draw

Was lucky enough to have won something from the lucky draw :)
items sponsored by Sze Accessories

After the ice breaker, we were supposed to move in groups and rotate to different stations. The first station we went to was Sze Accessories. We were given a small envelope with materials to make a charm bracelet.

We were given ribbons, clamps, pliers, charms etc.
First step to making your own charm bracelet is to braid the ribbons up and then slowly clamp the charms on the strap. It was pretty simple but it takes patience.

Gay faces but hey, look at our charm bracelets!

After our first workshop, we had lunch. Buffet sponsored by Fullhouse.

After lunch, we headed to our second workshop which was by Skechers.

They basically gave us some info on how to mix and match with Skechers. Comfortable yet fashionable.
Pretty much in love with those Skechers Jo & I are holding up. They look like loafers and the colours are so cute!

Moving on to our next workshop, it was by KATE.

The make up artist taught us a tip or two on how to enhance ourselves using their products. Not sure if you can see the difference but on one eye, I used KATE's slim gel pencil to do my inner eye lining and the other eye I just lined my lid. There's actually quite an obvious difference. It makes your eyes look more defined than just normal lid lining.

You know how normally gel liners come in a little pot with a brush, KATE has now managed to produce gel liner in a stick so check it out. It's really delicate and application is not that hard.

After KATE's workshop, we had a tarot card reading thingy thing. Sponsored by Soleil Trinity.

These cards have greek numberings on them, 1 - 9.
Basically, to calculate which card is your so called 'soul card', you're supposed to sum up your birthdate.
How?
ex : my birthday 25/08/1998
you calculate by adding
2+5+8+1+9+9+8
=42
4+2 = 6

my soul card is 6
AKA
The Lover
Basically, each card defines you. It describes your personality and why you are the way you are. To summarise what The Lover card describes me as…
basically, I am a person who needs lots of love (?) and a cupid on earth (?)
and
apparently, I'm super emotional (????)
I feel like it relates but then again it isn't too accurate so idk, because it described the majority accurately…maybe somewhere or something went wrong…hmm.

That marked the end of the event. We got ourselves goodie bags!

Prawning

A few days ago, Sheng Wei & I went for an unusal date. We went prawning! Basically fishing for prawns, but since we're all Malaysians, we make up words that don't exist to describe unusual things…It was my first time prawning and honest to god it wasn't easy, well, not for me. I guess if you have some kind of fisherman's luck or skills you can catch easily but I don't so…mehh.

The place we went prawning was in a place called Tropicana Ebi Fishing. Not only do they have prawning but when in season, they also have fishing, crabbing & lobstering (?) It was definitely a fun experience, missed fishing in Melbourne so this was sort of an alternative.

A huge man made pond with shelter for you to fish for any amount of prawn you want and can!

RM 18 per person, per hour
RM 10 for a box of your VERY OWN WORM ^^ (yay worm)

First catch went to Sheng Wei
ugh,
Score : 1-0
:(

In real life, he was screaming his balls off holding the prawn but voila PRAWN.

Concentrating on our rod, waiting for the prawns...

Prawn vs Worm
The worm was freaking long, I'm not even kidding. Just a little insight of prawning, you have to take your worm out of your container and you gotta saw bits of the tail off and use it as your bait. And, yes you have to touch it (unless you bring your maid) and yes it is torture...

BUT GREAT FUN AFTER YOU CATCH A PRAWN.

So called
PRAWNING (posing)

I FINALLY CAUGHT A PRAWN!!!
like…after 45 minutes…
my prawn wasn't even trying to eat my bait…its' tail accidentally got hooked on my hook so…
Zoey 1 - Prawn 0
Zoey 1 - Sheng Wei - (a lot)

After catching your prawn, basically the prawn will eventually die because they're injured but before letting them just suffocate to death…we're given a net to put the prawns into and then we're supposed to hang it by the side of the pond to let them shit out everything (because they do that after getting scared) and also die a less painful death (I guess)…

Not bad, amateurs and we caught 11 prawns altogether!

Um, transferred out and packed for us to bring home (RIP)
The prawns are free of charge, and say if you've got skills and you manage to catch a lot in an hour, RM18 per person & hour for any amount of prawns you can catch is pretty cheap…but if you suck then too bad la, your prawns can cost up to like gourmet prawn price.

Tropicana Ebi Fishing also provides BBQ pits. For those who enjoy a chilled night fishing & BBQ-ing dinner after. Perfect for chilled nights with family & friends.

Remember your worm? You get to label it and claim it as your own for your next visit :)
RM10 won't go to waste as it's pretty unlimited.

Dinner
Made garlic butter prawn with Sheng Wei!
